Notre Dame's headless statue

Leila thinks Grama will laugh when she sees it! A little research reveals that this is a statue of St. Denis, who was executed by beheading at the highest hill in Paris (Montmartre - "the martyrs' mountain"). After his head was chopped off, Denis is said to have picked it up and walked six miles, preaching a sermon the entire way.
