German National Treasure

No trip to Germany would be complete with enjoying the pride of Germany: Luthansa, an extremely well run airline. (Oh yes, and the beer is not too bad either!)

Operation Rick-ochet

This is the first day of the "Operation Rick-ochet" trip: Paris to San Francisco (via Frankfurt), the shippers arrive at the house to take our clothes, then the whole family flies back to Paris via Chicago. If all goes according to plan, I will spend less time in SF than I am spending in transit; hence the name, "Operation Rick-ochet".

The haul

3 hours, 93 bottles, and not too many Euros (well, not really).

When in Paris

One should drink wine, and where better than the independent wine producers tasting where 520 wineries are pouring their finest.

Printemps

It is amazing how quickly the weather can change. A few weeks ago we were locked in ice, and now spring is knocking, just in time for the girls' arrival.

Truth in advertising

I like this country. No mild surgeon general warning here. They are very clear about what will happen to you if you use these products. Fortunately for my job security, the same rules do not apply to software.

Another day.....

Another flight, another airport, another city. I'm back in Copenhagen so it must be Friday.

London calling

No trip to Europe is complete without seeing Heathrow. Better yet, you can extend the fun by staying over at the Heathrow Hilton!

When in Paris.....

One should drink Bordeaux and eat French onion soup with an old friend.

Look carefully at the center of the photo and you will see the other Lady Liberty.

Flying over Sweden

I am flying south from Stockholm to Paris while looking at this view. The whole area appears to be a frozen river delta. The landscape is either dark clumps of trees or flat areas of snow covered ice. I can see occasional brown paths through the ice connecting cities to the sea where ships are working their way through. It is no wonder that the Nordic countries built such strong and well made boats!

Copenhagen cold

This harbor outside the SAP Copenhagen office is partially heated by discharge from a power plant, and therefore has not frozen over since 1995. This year, however, is another story. Hello, global warming!
